PGA Professional Chris Cutchie has a simple motto when it comes to minding your work around the greens: “club stays low, ball goes up!”

In his golf coaching work, Colchester based Chris sees plenty of amateur golfers that tend to use their wrists to try and scoop the ball into the air. Or they will use their body in an aim to bring about a similar result. But there’s simply no need as Chris points out.

“You must keep that club parallel to the ground for as long as you can to maximise the loft and generate the correct strike,” he says.

Chris shows you how in this insightful video, while also advising that it’s set-up that allows you to hit a higher or lower shot.
