Founded by Fellow PGA Professional and former European Tour competitor Ian Lee, the academy bridges the gap between elite tournament play and everyday club performance. Ian’s distinguished career began on the highly competitive regional circuits, marked by a standout victory at the 1981 Glover Oil PGA North Region Assistants Championship at Wetherby Golf Club. He quickly proved his talent on the continental stage, winning the 1984 Golf de Brest Iroise Pro-Am in France—a crucial blueprint event for what has now become the modern DP World Tour’s European Challenge Tour. This success paved the way for Ian to compete at the absolute highest tier of European professional golf on the primary European Tour. After 38 years as Head PGA Professional and Golf Manager at Haigh Hall, Ian transitioned his focus entirely to private coaching. His deep understanding of elite swing mechanics has made him a trusted "coach to the coaches," having mentored over 100 fellow PGA Professionals, including multiple European Tour winners. Furthermore, his two decades of service as the elite county coach for the Lancashire Union of Golf Clubs has guided the region's top men's and Under-18 squads to numerous victories. Today, the Ian Lee Golf Academy utilises state-of-the-art indoor ball-flight tracking technology alongside specialized on-course instruction.
